With rapid advances in digital technology, learning is no longer confined only to classrooms. E-learning or online learning platforms are emerging as an important means of disseminating knowledge for students and professionals. Mr Narendra Singh, founder of Oye Trade was quick to assess the opportunity in this sector when he launched his e-learning development business in 2009. Narendra was passionate about entrepreneurship since his college days. Before starting Oye Trade, he founded several other start-ups, but their failure to succeed did not diminish his entrepreneurial zest. With Oye Trade, Mr. Narendra found his business niche. The firm focuses on developing innovative web, computer, and smart phone-based training courses to effectively engage and educate business teams. Oye Trade offers services to various specialised industries including health & safety, education & training, engineering & maintenance, manufacturing etc.
Mr Narendra believes in nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit in his enterprise. He maintains that people working at Oye Trade are not mere employees, but rather future entrepreneurs.
In conversation with GlobalLinker (GL), Mr Narendra Singh (NS) shares his business journey.
GL: Tell us about your business and how it came into being?
NS: Oye Trade is a Delhi NCR based IT company specialised in e-learning development services with a team of experienced professionals serving a wide range of industry verticals for the last 8+ years across the world. From my college days, I had a strong entrepreneurial spirit and did various small businesses. While in a job as a software engineer, I started looking for part time projects besides my full-time job and that is how Oye Trade was born.
GL: What challenges have you faced in establishing your business?
NS: Entrepreneurship is a challenge. Leaving a high paying job while shouldering family responsibilities was the biggest challenge for me. I founded several start-ups and faced failures, but never gave up.
GL: How did you hear of GlobalLinker? How has it helped you?
NS: I got an invite from ICICI Bank to join the GlobalLinker network and it has helped me to connect with other entrepreneurs.
GL: What is your big business dream?
NS: My business dream is to create more entrepreneurs instead of job seekers. People working with Oye Trade are not employees, they are future entrepreneurs.
GL: What is your message to aspiring entrepreneurs?
NS: I don't believe that entrepreneurship or becoming an entrepreneur is easy. If that would be the case, everyone would do it. My advice to aspiring entrepreneurs is - Challenge yourself and believe in yourself, you'll definitely achieve your goal.
